	The depth of the warm water available to a tropical cyclone is a factor in how much energy it can pull from the ocean. Cyclones will churn up water as they move, this upwelling of water can bring cool water to the surface which can prohibit and even weaken cyclones if the water is cool enough. This is a heat potential temp map which shows the potential heat at a depth of 100m or about 328 feet. This map is in celsius and 26.6 degrees C represents about 80 degrees F which is typically needed to promote formation and intensification.
