CIMSS imagery from WU Madison

The MIMIC product from the University of Wisconsin-Madison is very helpful in understanding eyewall structure of tropical systems. It also makes it much easier to understand what is happening during and eye wall replacement cycle (EWRC). EWRCs happen in strong systems after the eye of the storm becomes so wound up that it breaks down and a new eye wall forms. The new eye wall is usually much larger then the one that broke down.
