	This is the 72hr GFS forecast for pressure and rain. The GFS is a global forecasting model. This is the NOGAPS 72 hr wind shear forecast. The blue and black areas represent low shear. High shear can prevent formation and intensification of storms. This map shows the current sea surface temperatures. Higher temps are needed by tropical systems to form and intensify. These maps show some of the methods and variables used for forecasting tropical and weather systems.
